Watch our Benefits to Business Virtual Breakfast Briefing

On Wednesday, March 10th 2021 our coalition hosted a virtual briefing Wednesday morning, March 10th, to provide information about the benefits of these mobility improvements, as well as the latest on designs and construction schedules, a venue to speak with City officials, and tips and opportunities for your business to take advantage of better biking and mobility in New Orleans.

Protected bikeways, high-visibility crosswalks, expanded sidewalks, and improved transit stops are being built across New Orleans as part of Moving New Orleans Bikes, making it easier for everyone to get around by bike, foot, transit, or car. New safe and more accessible mobility options have been proven to boost neighborhood economies and local businesses across America. The same opportunity awaits businesses in and around New Orleans.

The briefing was hosted by Rob Henig Bell, Campaign Manager of Bike Easy and New Orleans Complete Streets Coalition, as well as Kelsey Foster, the Executive Director of Algiers Economic Development Foundation. We had several panelists speak on the call, including Meagan Moreland, owner of Happy Raptor Distillery, LaVerne Toombs of the New Orleans Regional Black Chamber of Commerce, and Jen Ruley from the New Orleans Department of Public Works.

Below is a recording of the briefing you can watch. If you are a local business owner, we’d love to hear your thoughts on how Complete Streets will benefit to your business through this google form.
