Our new ‘Moving New Orleans Bikes’ neighborhood resource pages

With the many Complete Streets improvements currently being built as part of ‘Moving New Orleans Bikes’, we decided to create neighborhood resource pages where you can learn more about and keep up with the various mobility improvements coming to your neighborhood, community by community, street by street.

Algiers and the neighborhoods in and around the 7th Ward (Tremé, Mid-City, St Roch, & Gentilly) are first up, so we’re starting off there. Stay tuned for upcoming neighborhood resource pages for Downtown and Uptown (incl. Central City, Lower Garden District, Broadmoor, and more).

Moving New Orleans Bikes in Algiers

As the City continues building 75 miles of protected and connected bikeways across New Orleans, we want to make sure that you understand the improvements coming to your streets and to your community.

These neighborhood resource pages will explain not only the infrastructure improvements coming to each street, like protected bikeways, green infrastructure, and improved signage, they’ll also show you before and after pictures as well as  stories from neighborhood residents and business owners about why they support Moving New Orleans Bikes.

In New Orleans we’re connected with our city, our friends and neighbors. Moving New Orleans Bikes is a landmark effort to use safe and accessible Complete Streets to better connect New Orleans neighborhoods, making it safer and less stressful for each of us to get around and connect with everyone and every destination in our community, and we want you to know exactly how that’s going to happen.
